School is back in session! Bam! Summer is behind us and we are a busy family once again. Carpooling multiple times a day between school and activities is our reality. The fast paced life we live is typical of any other household with three kiddos who are involved with sports and other extracurricular events. Scheduling is key to ensuring everything is accomplished timely and accurately. That means we are planning constantly and making adjustments to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Meals have to be decided on Sunday with grocery shopping and prep work completed before the week even begins. We find theme nights work for our family and including the kids in the decisions makes them happy and they look more forward to dinner time. We have been using the Fixate cookbook by Autumn Calabrese. And our kids are loving them! Some of our themes include:
Other themes we like are:
-Breakfast for Dinner
You can choose whatever kind of theme works for your family just remember to keep your meal ideas simple, nutritious, and balanced. We plan bigger dinners that require more preparation for our Saturday and Sunday meals when we have more time and energy to get creative in the kitchen. Preparing meals together as a family can be time well spent interacting with one another and sharing the importance of creating healthy and nutritious meals with your children. Bon appetite!
