Strawberry Mint Popsicles

Summer is in full swing and I wanted to let you know that I’ve got a brand new support + accountability community starting. Most popsicles are made primarily of sugar, sugar, and then a little bit more sugar for good measure… but not these! These are the perfect poolside treat and they actually taste GOOD and they’re good for you. What could be better?!  For the smoothest strawberry popsicles, you’ll want to blend all the ingredients on high speed until liquified. But if you do want a bit of texture, reserve some of the strawberries, adding them only at the end. Pulse the blender a few times to roughly chop them, before pouring the mixture into molds.  

INGREDIENTS
¾ cup of water
½ cup fresh (or frozen) strawberries
2 scoops Strawberry Shakeology (whey or vegan)
2 tbsp fresh lime juice2 tbsp fresh mint, chopped 

INSTRUCTIONS
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Divide evenly into four popsicle molds; freeze for at least 4 hours or until set. Don’t have Shakeology? Grab yours here!  
Exercise isn’t just about the size of your muscles or how fast you can run a mile, although those things are totally legit goals to work on. But deep down? People who exercise regularly tend to do so more before of that sense of well-being a regular workout provides #SweatSanity They feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at night, have sharper memories, and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves and their lives. Exercise can also be powerful medicine for common mental health challenges, including having a positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. Sweat = sanity.

Poolside salad recipe

Summer is flying by and the Summer Wellness Club is in full swing! I am so proud of everyone who has made a commitment to improve their health and wellness this summer! 

As we move farther into summer I encourage you to remember the way you want to FEEL this summer, and what that looks like for you! One of the ways we can achieve our goals and feel how we want to feel is through healthy eating! This super simple salad recipe is jam-packed with nutrients and beautiful veggies!

The best part? It can sit in your fridge for up to a week! Making this perfect for poolside picnics, on the run lunches, or any summer activity you have planned! 
Black Bean and Quinoa Salad

I got this recipe from my friend Meredith who swears by this super simple and healthy salad! One of the benefits of using quinoa is that it’s high in protein and is also gluten-free! 

Ingredients:
1 can black beans (rinsed and drained)
1 red, yellow, or orange pepper (finely chopped)
1 small purple onion (finely chopped)
6 green onions – white and light green parts only (thinly sliced) 
1/2 cup cilantro  (chopped)
3 cups cooked quinoa Here’s how to cook quinoa if you haven’t before! 
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp soy sauce 
Salt to taste

Preparation:
1. Cook quinoa 

2. Chop and dice veggies. Mix with cooled quinoa. Add rinsed/drained beans.

3. Mix olive oil, red wine vinegar, lime juice, and soy sauce and pour over quinoa/veggie mixture. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Chill and serve. You can eat this dish warm or cooled!  

5. Enjoy!

Rock your morning routine!

July is here! I can’t believe it!

As summer continues to fly by I want to remind you all that this lifestyle is not restricted to summer. You can live this way YEAR ROUND! You can FEEL this way every day!

Living the way you want starts with establishing your morning routine and sticking to it! The way you start your morning impacts your whole day, so you want to start off on the right foot! I’m sharing my top 5 tips to help you stay focused and dedicated to your morning routine.

5 TIPS FOR ROCKING YOUR MORNING ROUTINE

  1. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!!!
    Start your morning with water, it fuels your body, aids in digestion, and can help with your metabolism levels. Place a glass by your bed at night so you have no excuse but to drink up!
  2. SET GOALS FOR THE DAY
    By either writing down your goals or saying them aloud you are setting a precedent for the day. Establishing what you want to succeed will put you on the right track for the day.
  3. NO SCREEN TIME UNTIL BREAKFAST!
    By avoiding screens until you eat breakfast you are allowing your body to wake up NATURALLY.
  4. DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST

  5. EXERCISE!
    Starting your morning by getting your body moving and your blood flowing sets you up for success. Not only do you begin the day with energy, but you also start off with an accomplishment that carries into the rest of your day!

Summer Wellness Club

 A new month is here and I am so excited to invite you to join The Summer Wellness Club! This is not about restricting yourself to only eating boring salads all summer long. We believe in popsicles, pool time, and making the most of these warm months and we’d never ask you to sacrifice your happiness for a smaller number on a scale. But if you’re struggling with your nutrition or ready to incorporate more movement into your life, this is a perfect place for you!  
What is more refreshing than lemonade on a hot summer day?! (Answer: nothing) This easy recipe for lemonade popsicles uses just 3 ingredients: water, fresh lemons, and honey! If you wanted to boost the flavor profile for a night of summer entertaining, add ¼ cup fresh herbs or seasonings wrapped tightly in cheesecloth to the water and honey mixture. Boil for 5 minutes; allow to steep for 1-2 hours. Then, strain! You can play around with the flavor combinations and explore a little – ginger, rosemary, thyme, basil… be adventurous! Whether you go with the simple version or an elevated herbal flavor, these pops are sure to delight!
Ingredients
1½ cups water, divided use
3 Tbsp. raw honey
½ cup fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Heat ½ cup water and honey in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes or until well blended. Cool to room temperature. Combine honey mixture and lemon juice in a bowl or pitcher. Gradually add the remaining water to desired taste. Pour evenly into four ice pop molds; freeze for at least four hours, or until set. 
Summer is short and we want to take full advantage of it. Most of us are skilled at creating summer bucket lists as long as our arm… but then, too often, we head into fall feeling frazzled or unrested. What if we first get super clear on HOW we want to FEEL this summer and then identify the specific goals or intentions that will best support us in feeling this way?! 8 Questions, I get frequently about Beachbody Coaching

Here are the 8 most common questions that I’ve received:

1. What do I do as a Coach?

As a Team Beachbody coach, you help motivate and guide others as you move towards your own fitness and nutritional goals. You provide guidance with meal plans and help clients make the best use out of Beachbody’s many online resources and tools. You also help your clients troubleshoot issues and support them in their endeavor to meet their health and fitness goals.

You do not have to be a certified personal trainer, a nutritionist, or a medical expert. You only have to have the desire to help yourself and others get fit!

2. What are the benefits of coaching?

  • You have the opportunity to make a difference by helping others lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.
  •  Helping others helps you become more accountable with your own fitness.
  • You receive 25% off all products.
  • You get your own personalized online websites/store.
  • You are not responsible for shipping or inventory.

3. Can I coach if I’m not at my goal-weight?

Even if you are just starting your fitness journey, you will see yourself as being healthier because you are a fitness coach. Other people will notice that you are putting in an effort and making a lifestyle change. Whether you have lost 5 or 105 lbs, friends & family will look at the effort you are making at becoming a healthy role model and respect you for that.

A mistake some people make is that they believe “I can’t be a coach because I haven’t lost much weight yet.” Many people will relate to you just the way you are. Most people struggle to push play and eat healthy. People will look up to you precisely because you are in the same shoes that they are, but you are taking control and doing something about it.

4. How much does it cost to get started?

There is a $39.95 start-up fee. After the first month, there is a monthly $15.95 business fee. This gives you access to Coach Relations Services, including 3 personalized websites, email account, personal development via Success Magazine, & online office tools to manage your growing business.

If you are an ACTIVE military personnel, ( you or your spouse)  then Beachbody will waive the start-up fee. (FREE)

The start-up fee is waived if you purchase a Challenge Pack at sign up. This is the route most people choose as it’s imperative to be a product of the product.

5. How much money can I earn?

Whether your goal is to simply earn an extra $500/month to help pay the mortgage or to replace your JOB income, the sky is the limit. What started out as having a little extra each month for my family to simply getting  products for FREE has turned into a full-time business that has allowed me to stay home with my three kids and be a good wife for my husband and take some of the stress off him in providing for our family needs.

6. How do I grow my business?

This is entirely up to you. Whether you choose to grow your business via social media, the phone, email, blogging  or face-to-face, our TEAM will point you to the appropriate resources to assist you.

7. Is this a scam?

Nope. Beachbody is a well-established, respected infomercial company that has been around for more than 15 years. In 2006, it earned $139 million dollars in revenue, and in 2008, that number more than doubled to $300 million. The projected 2012 year-end revenue was $584 million. These figures are only expected to grow.  In 2006, Beachbody launched Team Beachbody which provided Independent Coaches to help customers complete and finish their fitness programs.   As of March 2014, Team Beachbody  has  over 150,000  Coaches over the world.

8. Do I have to sell? I don’t like to sell.

Most of us feel the same way! We don’t like to sell, and the good news is that we don’t sell!

Being a coach is about sharing information with others, in regard to both the fitness & nutrition products and the business opportunity. The introduction of Challenge Packs and Challenge Groups has made it even easier to spread the news.Talking to people about what Beachbody has to offer is kind of like going to a movie or a restaurant, and then sharing the good or bad information regarding your experience with your family and friends. Do you feel like you are SELLING your family or friends when you tell them you had a great meal at a restaurant or saw a really good movie? Of course not! It’s the same way with this business. You are just sharing some information with others about what Beachbody has done for YOU; it’s up to them to decide what to do with that information.
