The joys of summer and end of school is coming soon!! But with that comes closure to another year end of choir concerts, band concerts, international days, field trips, school projects, and many more events that I will cherish as my kids grow into a new season of life.
Last week was my last day teaching these sweet 3rd graders about Jesus.. Their questions and hearts are powerful but their minds are still so innocent and protected from the things of the world. Next year they will be 4th graders.. Time are changes..
We embrace each moment with the grace of God and assurance that we are loved by him always and forever. I wish I can keep them young forever.
New beginnings they are a good thing! It’s time to GROW.. Use our gifts and keep moving!
Save the DATE May 1st, 2014! The National Day of Prayer. I don’t know about you guys but we are a praying family. NDOP has has made an impact on my family and I. I #teach
my children about having a #relationship
with their savior Jesus …Christ through the power of prayer. They can pray any time, any where and any format. Jesus wants to hear from US. And lifting up others in prayer is powerful. Our theme is this year – One Voice united in Prayer! Romans 15:6 “So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Each year I organize an annual prayer time for parents, students, and staff to come to the flag pole at my kids school and pray. It is a time for us to cover different topics. These are the areas I focus on: our country, churches, schools, executive staff, board members, students, health of our students and families, neighborhood- families and our Military! I have parents and students praying for each one. It is a day that fills my cup and brings me PUreJOY. This may be something you can start with your family and friends.
I wanted to share the history of NDOP.. The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force- “The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.”
This is about of our history and what our country was founded on. Historical Summary •1775 – The first Continental Congress called for a National Day of Prayer •1863 – Abraham Lincoln called for such a day. •1952 – Congress established NDP as an annual event by a joint resolution, signed into law by President Truman (82-324) •1988 – The law was amended and signed by President Reagan, designating the NDP as the first Thursday in May (100-307).
My spiritual daily dose is soaking up God’s word!
Because of the Grace of God, we can always improve ourselves. Start fresh each and everyday.
